National integrated property, construction and investment group, Oreana has commenced construction on the first major shopping centre to deliver convenience to Melbourne’s growing Deanside community.
The $85 million centre, Deanside Central, will offer 8,200 square metres of Net Lettable Area (NLA) across a 21,000 square metre site on the corner of Hopkins Road and Conservatory Drive when completed in early 2027.
Anchored by a large-format Coles supermarket, Deanside Central will feature up to 30 retail outlets, with Liquorland, Yes Yes Indian Supermarket, Anytime Fitness, Direct Chemist Outlet and a number of other retailers already committed, alongside beauty and a number of food and beverage operators.
Oreana Managing Director Tony Sass said Deanside Central would become the heart of the growing Deanside community, strategically positioned by schools, parks, childcare and residents.
“The commencement of construction at Deanside Central marks another significant milestone in Oreana’s commitment to supporting Melbourne’s expanding outer suburbs with vital retail infrastructure,” he said.
“These neighbourhood centres are fundamental to establishing well-connected, liveable communities in emerging residential areas.
“Deanside Central will bring essential retail and everyday services directly to the local community, enhancing everyday life for residents.
“Our end-to-end capability in both development and construction allows us to create retail destinations that truly serve local communities. We’re focused on delivering convenient, welcoming centres that become genuine gathering places and make daily life easier for local families.”
Deanside Central is the first major retail hub serving growing Deanside, which is within the sought-after Kororoit precinct and rapidly growing Melton City Council.
Here, population grew by more than 13,000 residents between 2023 and 2024 alone and more than 4,000 new homes are expected to be added each year until 2046.
Highly active in Melbourne’s greenfield space, Oreana also has the following neighbourhood shopping centres under construction:
