Nationally diversified developer-builder Oreana has successfully completed a new local shopping centre in Armstrong Creek, bringing much-needed retail and early education services to the rapidly growing community.

The new centre, located in the Ashbury estate, features a 136-place childcare facility alongside a diverse mix of retail tenants, providing locals with everyday essentials and greater convenience close to home.

Oreana’s commitment to delivering high-quality community infrastructure ensures residents have access to critical services as the area – one of Victoria’s largest growth areas – continues to expand.

Spanning 906 square metres, The Square Ashbury includes the already open Fitstop gym and Aspire Early Education and Kindergarten. The early education facility opened in December already half full, with a strong waitlist – reflecting the pent-up demand in the fast-growing suburb.

Future tenants to open over the coming months include eateries Victoria’s Pizza and Sweet India alongside The Local Laundry Lounge.

Oreana Managing Director Tony Sass said the local shopping centre aimed to become a central hub where everyday life for residents is convenient and connected.

“There has been a pressing need for more early education in Armstrong Creek, with childcare waitlists extending up to 18 months—and the demand only growing as more families move into the area,” Mr Sass said.

“As an integrated developer and builder, we design community hubs with the needs of local residents at the forefront. In this case, expanding childcare services was a top priority.

“Creating a well-balanced mix of retail tenants with complementary services is also key, ensuring that residents can take care of multiple errands in one convenient visit—whether it’s going to the gym, picking up dry cleaning, or grabbing dinner.

“In a new and growing community like Armstrong Creek, developments like this play a vital role in building and uniting residents, offering a shared space to meet and connect in their growing neighbourhood.”

Oreana is set to commence construction mid-year on a new retail centre, within the Warralily Village shopping precinct. The centre will feature 1,500 sqm of large format and specialty retail space, as well as another state-of-the-art early education facility, deliver an additional 138 places to local families.

Oreana also recently completed the Kallo Town Centre in Kalkallo spanning 7,120 sqm of lettable area, a Woolworths, 30 retailers, office and an Aspire Early Education & Kindergarten.

The group has also recently started work on several new shopping centre developments, including the $18 million Farm Gate Local shopping centre in Clyde and the $32 million Linfield Place shopping centre in Epping.
